PRAY, LISTEN & RECEIVE WISDOM
PRAY
We read in Luke 18:1, “that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” If ever a time to pray and learn more how to pray, it’s now. Thank God we have a helper and instructions from Jesus. Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses”. In Luke 11:1, one of the disciples said “…teach us to pray…”. Jesus then gives those instructions in the following verses, Luke 11:2-13.
LISTEN
The caption for Psalm 81 is “An Appeal for Israel’s Repentance”. Verse 13 says “Oh, that My people would listen to Me.” This was the second time in this chapter He says to listen. Verse 14 says “I would soon subdue their enemies”. Recently I read a powerful quote from Bob Sorge, “Hearing is a today thing”.
Hebrews 3:7-8 confirms this when it says, “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts”. This is the now time for us individually as well as corporately to hear His voice. It’s not what we think God is saying, but what He is really saying.
RECEIVE WISDOM
Isaiah 33:6, “In that day He will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord will be your treasure.” If you lack wisdom, ask (James 1:5-6). Ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct in praying, listening, and receiving the wisdom from above for such a time as this.
